Clendenin, WV – 4/7/25 – The Clendenin Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) is proud to announce that it has received a generous grant from the Gary Sinise Foundation to purchase new battery-powered hydraulic rescue tools. This grant will significantly enhance the department’s ability to respond to emergencies, providing the tools necessary to rescue individuals trapped in vehicles and other hazardous situations.

The grant from the Gary Sinise Foundation funded the purchase of state-of-the-art rescue equipment, ensuring that CVFD responders are equipped with the latest technology to improve response times and rescue capabilities. The department’s new battery-powered hydraulic rescue tools will be lighter, more efficient, and safer, ultimately enhancing the safety of both the first responders and the community they serve.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Gary Sinise Foundation for their support,” said Kevin Clendnein, Fire Chief of the Clendenin Volunteer Fire Department. “This grant will make a tremendous impact on our ability to save lives and ensure our first responders have the tools they need to handle challenging situations effectively and efficiently.”

Additionally, the CVFD would like to extend a special thank you to Mid-Atlantic Rescue Systems for being the department’s dealer and supplier of these essential tools. Their expertise and commitment to supporting first responders have played an integral role in bringing this project to fruition.

“The support of organizations like the Gary Sinise Foundation and Mid-Atlantic Rescue Systems is invaluable,” Chief Clendenin added. “We couldn’t do this important work without the dedication and generosity of our partners.”
