Clendenin, WV — 12/31/25 — The Clendenin Volunteer Fire Department is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Glenn Summers Board President and Past Fire Chief of the Clendenin VFD.

Glenn dedicated 66 years of service to the Clendenin community, serving with honor, leadership, and unwavering commitment. As Fire Chief and later as Board President, he played a vital role in strengthening the department, mentoring members, and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community we proudly serve.

“Glenn was more than a leader— he was a mentor, a friend, and a tireless advocate for this department and our town. His legacy will continue to guide us.” said Vice President Tobby Mitchell.

The members of the Clendenin Volunteer Fire Department extend their heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Glenn. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.
