Clendenin Volunteer Fire Department Welcomes New Ladder Truck to Serve Community
Clendenin, WV – 01/21/2025 – The Clendenin Volunteer Fire Department is excited to announce the addition of a new ladder truck to its fleet. This state-of-the-art apparatus, purchased through the Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program will enhance the department’s ability to respond to emergencies and improve safety for both firefighters and the community.
The new ladder truck, manufactured by Pierce Manufacturing Inc., features the latest in firefighting technology, including a 100-foot mid-mounted aerial tower, a short maneuverable chassis, and increased safety for the department member. It has been specially equipped to provide aerial support for fire suppression, rescue operations, and access to high-rise buildings. The addition of this apparatus will significantly improve the department’s ability to respond to a wide variety of incidents, from structure fires to technical rescues.
“We are incredibly proud to bring this new ladder truck into service,” said Chief Kevin Clendenin. “It’s an investment in the safety of our community and our firefighters. This truck will provide us with enhanced capabilities, ensuring that we can effectively respond to emergencies with the best equipment available.”
The ladder truck has been designed with safety, efficiency, and ease of use in mind, and will allow the department to better protect lives and property. The vehicle is expected to be delivered in the Fall of 2028.
