Clendenin Volunteer Fire Department responded to the area of Jordan Creek Road on July 25, 2024 for a reported structure fire with someone trapped inside. Engine 1 arrived on scene to a fully involved single wide trailer that had extended to the residence beside it. Engine 12, and Tower Ladder 1 arrived shortly after to assist in rescue and fire attack. The crew from Engine 1 stretched a hose line for fire attack and then began to search for the victim. Engine 12 arrived on scene and stretched a hose line to the exposed residence. The Victim was located after the fire was knocked down, but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. The crews continued to operate on scene with Pinch Volunteer Fire Department for two more hours to bring the fire under control. The scene was turned over to the WV State Fire Marshal for investigation.
