**Press RELEASE**

Clendenin, WV – March 11, 2025 – The Clendenin Volunteer Fire Department, in partnership with the Town of Clendenin, is proud to announce the implementation of the Knox Rapid Entry System for businesses and residences throughout the town. This new system will help first responders gain faster and safer access to buildings in the event of an emergency.

The Knox Box system, a secure key and lockbox solution, allows firefighters to access a building without the need to force entry, minimizing property damage and improving emergency response time. Each Knox Box will contain a master key that allows firefighters to enter a building during emergencies such as fires, medical emergencies, or hazardous situations when immediate access is critical.

“We are excited to offer this important safety tool to the residents and business owners of Clendenin,” said Kevin Clendenin, Fire Chief of the Clendenin Volunteer Fire Department. “The Knox Box system is a proven method of increasing the efficiency of emergency responders and ensuring that we can act quickly in critical situations.”

The partnership with the Town of Clendenin is a key element in making the Knox Box system available to all local properties. Business owners and residents are encouraged to install the system to enhance safety and provide quicker emergency response.

“We are committed to the safety and well-being of our community,” said Kay Summers, Mayor of Clendenin. “By introducing the Knox Box Rapid Entry System, we are ensuring that our firefighters can do their jobs more effectively while minimizing risk to property and lives.”

The Clendenin Volunteer Fire Department will be providing more information on the Knox Raid Entry System at the Clendenin businesses round table event. This is being held at the Community center next to town hall tonight March 11, 2025 at 6 p.m.
